Simple Minds

Simple Minds, LP New Gold Dreams (1982), Charlie Burchill (guitars & various, born 1951), Jim Kerr (vocals, born 1950)

Simple Mind extends its endeavours over 40 years with 230 songs released in 20 studio LPs. The Band appears in 1977 on the Glasgow post-punk scene, finds marginal success with its 3 initial LPs and then dominates the British new-wave rock in 1981-89 with a dense, powerful and clean sound that gathers mainstream acceptance. Despite their mild commercial results, the band’s subsequent 12 LPs keep delivering superior rock during 30 years.
