Kino is the first mass-success of Soviet rock, a  success due to superb compositions backed by an elegant and solid new wave sound since 1986. The group is created in 1981 in Leningrad by Viktor Tsoi (1962-1990) who dies in a car crash in Latvia in August 1990. Kino releases 120 songs in 8 studio LPs between 1982 and 1990 and disbands upon the death of its singer-composer. Tsoi instantly becomes a legend of Soviet rock.
