With 200 songs published in 15 studio LPs between 1967 and 2014, Pink Floyd is psychedelic pop’s most influential and successful act . David Gilmour joins in December 1967 while the band’s disabled mentor Syd Barret struggles and leaves in March 1968. Pink Floyd’s song ‘Echoes‘ (1971, nb: 23’30” long) and LP album ‘Dark side of the moon‘ (1973) rank among the greatest evergreen artworks of pop-music. On the sidelines, the band’s history is paved with educative business lessons, e.g. the episode of the 60£ paid to Clare Torry for her two-hour improvisation on ‘The great gig in the sky‘ (1973), Wright’s eviction in 1979, Water’s just missed 1986 takeover attempt and the renewed commercial success in 1987 and 1994… Mind-boggling epics indeed!
