Ultravox (initial band name ‘Tiger Lily’) is formed by John Foxx in 1973 and delivers glam-punk/post-punk rock in 3 LPs and 3 singles in 1975-79. John Foxx leaves in 1979 to pursue a solo-career and is replaced by Midge Ure. Under the latter’s leadership, the band releases 4 LPs of lyrical and gripping new wave rock in 1980-84, culminating in the song “Man of Two Worlds” (1984). Ultravox disbands in 1987.
